BELARUS

This is a view of Victory Square in Minsk.  The monument is the Obelisk to Warriors of the Soviet Army and Partisans deceased in the battles for liberation of Belarus from Nazi occupants.  It was established on June 4, 1954.

This is a view of Edmonton's city skyline mirrored in the waters of the North Saskatchewan River.

SOUTH AFRICA

My first card from South Africa!  To make it an even smaller world, the card is of the world's tallest and most luxurious hotel in Dubai, United Arb Emirates, and was mailed from Germany.  The woman who sent the card is originally from Germany, lived in the UAE and now lives in South Africa.  Two countries I hope to visit someday -- UAE and South Africa!

BELARUS

The back of the card included the following description:  Once the largest urban district of the capital, the Trinity Suburb is now a tiny island of the past, scrupulously restored over the past twenty years by assiduous historians, architects, and renovators.  With its olderly houses and tidy roofs the Trinity Suburb looks a lot like a stage set, but this set dressing has managed the impossible - to maintain some charming old-world aura.  A narrow crook-backed bridge connects the Trinity Suburb and the Isle of Tears, a solemn piece of land with a memorial commemorating the sons of Motherland who perished in foreign lands.

My first card from Austria.  This shows a number of views around Neusiedler Lake.  It is the second largest steppe lake in Central Europe.

This is a view of Pirmasens which is near the border with France.  It is famous for the manufacture of shoes.

This is a photo of Bridgewater's town center.  It shows the Corn Exchange, Church of Saint Mary, and statue of Robert Blake. Bridgewater is a market town and civil parish in Somerset, England.

This is the Prime Minister's Office Complex (Perdana Putra, domed building in the back) and the Putra Mosque, two of the most significant landmarks in Putrajaya.  The lake, Putrajaya Lake, is human-made.
