GERMANY

I'm not exactly sure what city these photos are from.  When I search on-line, I only find websites in German so I can't translate. But I like the card a lot!

Thanks cpunkt for the card (DE833451).

RUSSIA

This is the house of manufacture A.E. Brochaninov.  It was designed in the Baroque style during it's rebuilding in the 1900s.  I believe this is in Yekaterinburg, Russia.  It's on the eastern side of the Ural Mountains, in the central part of Russia.  It is Russia's 3rd largest city.

Thanks timian for the card (RU-307077).

BELARUS

This is a card showing an illustration; however, I'm not sure where in Belarus it's from.  It's a nice painting though.

Thanks saturday4 for the card (BY-106238).

UKRAINE

I believe this photo is taken by the sender and is one of the best photo cards I've received.  Beautifully captured.  I'm not sure where the photos is taken but the sender and I have a few things in common.  We both love to travel and take photos.  In addition, she's visited in the California and I've lived in California.

Thanks Murmuazel for the beautiful card (UA-60287).

GERMANY

This is a view of Malin Head on Inishowen Pennisula in County Donegal in Ireland (although the sender is from Germany).  Malin Head is on the north coast.  It looks beautiful from this photo.

LATVIA

My first card from Latvia.  It's one of my favorites. These are photos of different views of the Town Hall Square in Riga.  The building with the bell tower in the top left photo is the Town HallRiga is the capital of Latvia.  The city is particularly notable for its extensive Jugendstil (German Art Nouveau) architecture, which UNESCO considers to be unparalleled anywhere in the world.

Thanks Ladushka for the great card (LV-26710).

BELARUS

The card states that this is the South-western tower but it doesn't say where or tower for what unfortunately.  On the very top of the loop-hole there are machines for throwing stones and pouring boiling water.  The tower is preserved authentic since the times when the castle was built in the early 16th century.  The sender is from Minsk so maybe this tower is from near there.

Thanks romashkaT for the card (BY-131052).

NETHERLANDS

My father-in-law translated this for me.  In general it means "When my monthly income is gone I always find out that the month is still not over."  Loesje is an international free speech organization started in the Netherlands in 1983.  The woman who sent this card stated that this saying hangs on walls all over the Netherlands.

Thanks Tabetha for the card (NL-538864).
