RUSSIA

This is one of my favorite cards!  This is the Cathedral of the Intercession (Cathedral of St. Basil the Blessed) in Moscow.  It is a Russian Orthodox church constructed on the Red Square in 1556-1561.  Built on the order of Ivan the Terrible, it marks the geometric center of the city.

Thanks koka_0 for the card (RU-531018).

RUSSIA

Koningsberg was the captial of East Prussia from the Late Middle Ages until 1945.  Königsberg was heavily damaged by Allied bombing in 1944 during World War II and was subsequently conquered by the Red Army after the Battle of Konigsberg in 1945. The city was annexed by the Soviet Union according to the Potsdam Agreement and largely repopulated with Russians.

RUSSIA

This is the Saint Basil's Cathedral in Moscow from the 19th century.  It is a Russian Orthodox church erected on the Red Square in Moscow in 1555–1561. Built on the order of Ivan IV of Russia to commemorate the capture of Kazan and Astrakhan, it marks the geometric center of the city and the hub of its growth since the 14th century. It was the tallest building in Moscow until the completion of the Ivan the Great Bell Tower in 1600.

RUSSIA

This is the house of manufacture A.E. Brochaninov.  It was designed in the Baroque style during it's rebuilding in the 1900s.  I believe this is in Yekaterinburg, Russia.  It's on the eastern side of the Ural Mountains, in the central part of Russia.  It is Russia's 3rd largest city.

Thanks timian for the card (RU-307077).

RUSSIA

This is one of my favorite cards so far.  I love the contrast of the snow with the moque.  The sender wrote in Russian on the card (I've asked for senders to write in their own language) but of course, this means I can't read it :).  But still great to see!  So I'm not sure what this is a picture of but it's beautiful.

Thanks Verveineverte for the great card (RU-288911).
