NETHERLANDS
This is a view of a farmhouse in the Twente region of the Netherlands. The district of Twente in the eastern Netherlands lies between Salland in the west and the German frontier to the east. Since about 1830 the textile industry of Twente has developed from a traditional cottage industry into the major element in the economy of the region. The spinning and weaving mills and dyeing factories are mostly located in the towns of Enschede, Hengelo, Almelo and Oldenzaal.
Outside these industrial centers Twente is still essentially an agricultural region,
dotted with villages of traditional type and isolated farmsteads.

This is the Kasteel Slangenburg, constructed in the late Medieval period. At present the castle is used as a guesthouse by the nearby Benedictine monastery, St. Willibrord's Abbey (Sint-Willibrordabdij), a newly-built structure of the 1950s situated on a part of the castle's former estate.

I haven't yet gotten a chance to visit Rotterdam while we've been in the Netherlands visiting family but I hope to someday. It's the second largest city in Netherlands and the largest port in Europe.
Thanks MoonLuta for the great card (NL-615363).

Great stamp and card! This card shows touristic buildings in Zeeland, a county in Holland. The sender of this card is from Groede, nearby Breskens and the beach, right next to the Belgium border. In Groede there are only about 500 houses so a very small town!
Thanks Possemo for the card (NL-595010).

This was an actual greeting type card from a married couple in the Netherlands. This is an early morning view from one of the many fields in Holland. It is taken near the biggest national park in the Netherlands, Hoge Veluwe.
Thanks KirstenJarich for the card (NL-584243).

This is a great view of some of the traditional Dutch elements - windmill, cheese (kaas), and tulips.
